Helen
Co-Creating a digital playground to Minecraft to inform and educate about efficient energy solutions to a young audience
Background
Helen’s Energy Education program demystifies the green transition and the company’s role in it, presenting it simply enough for even a child to understand. This not only engages children, who will live with these changes the longest, but also resonates with their parents, enhancing the industry’s appeal as an employer. As part of this initiative, Helen introduces a Minecraft challenge, encouraging elementary school-aged children to creatively explore sustainable, decentralized, and renewable energy in a game setting, fostering hope and stimulating thought.
Solution
Energy education is made understandable through genuine, meaningful actions and interaction where young people spend their time – as the first energy company in Finland, Helen challenged the youth to learn more about energy and renewable energy sources on the Minecraft platform
MINECRAFT WORLD DESIGN AND CREATION
A 17-year-old expert Remu was recruited for the project as a Minecraft and target group specialist, with whom Bängeri implemented the Minecraft challenge world for Helen.
AUDITION AND CO CREATION WITH THE TARGET GROUP
In the middle of the project, two iterations were organized where representatives of the target group got to play the challenge and identify strengths and weaknesses according to which even radical changes were made and the world’s functionality was improved.
ENERGY VILLAGE CHALLENGE PRESENTED BY INFLUENCER LAKKO
Helen’s Minecraft Energy Village challenge saw the light of day during Lakon’s two Twitch streams. Over 200 players participated in the challenge and over 100 unique energy creations were obtained.
